Shipped our new feature today after 6 weeks of work. Text-first platforms are where real product conversations happen 🚀

@daily.brew1m

Replying to @maya.codes - congrats! We quoted this in our newsletter roundup. This is exactly the kind of launch story our readers love.

Features

Everything a conversation needs. Nothing it doesn't.

Built for sharing what's on your mind - and finding the people who care about the same things.

✍️

Text-first posting

Lead with words. Share short text updates, then add images, videos, GIFs, and links when they help tell the story. Threads keeps the focus on what you have to say.

📸

Instagram integration

Sign in with your Instagram account and optionally bring your profile, followers, and following with you. Your community, one tap away.

💬

Public conversations

Reply to posts, quote them with your own take, or repost them to your followers. Every thread is an open invitation.

🌐

Fediverse support

Threads is gradually adopting the open ActivityPub protocol, so your posts can reach people on compatible platforms across the open social web.

🔎

Feeds & search

Discover trending topics, follow your interests with custom feeds, and search for the people and posts that matter to you.

How to use Threads

From download to your first post in minutes

Seven steps, no experience required. If you have an Instagram account you're already halfway there.

1

Get Threads

Download the app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android), or just open threads.com in any browser - the full experience works on the web too.

2

Sign up or log in

The fast path: tap "Continue with Instagram" and pick the account you're signed into (or choose "Use different account" to enter other login details). No Instagram? You can create a Threads profile without one.

3

Set up your profile

Import your Instagram photo, bio, and link with one tap - or write them fresh. Then choose whether your profile is public (anyone can see and reply) or private (approved followers only).

4

Follow people

Follow the same accounts you follow on Instagram in one tap, or start fresh - search for people, browse suggestions, and dip into topic tags that match your interests.

5

Post your first thread

Tap the compose button and say something - up to 500 characters, plus photos, videos, GIFs, links, or a poll. Add one topic tag to join a bigger conversation. Longer thought? Attach extended text or chain posts into a thread.

6

Join conversations

This is where Threads comes alive. Reply to posts you have thoughts on, quote them to add your take, and repost the ones worth sharing - replies do more for your reach than anything else.

7

Tune your feed

Swipe between For You (recommendations) and Following (just your people), pin custom feeds for topics you care about, and use search to find posts, people, and trending conversations.

Marketing on Threads

The fastest-growing place to build a brand in 2026

Threads passed 400 million monthly users, overtook X in daily mobile users, and opened ads to every advertiser worldwide in January 2026 - while organic reach is still wide open.

400M+monthly active users worldwide

Ads are now global

Since January 2026, ads appear for all Threads users worldwide. Campaigns run through Meta Ads Manager alongside Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp - with Advantage+ automatic placement, Custom and Lookalike Audiences, and image, video, carousel, and 4:5 formats supported.

🌱

Organic reach that still works

The feed rewards conversational engagement: replies count for more than likes, and personality-driven posts outperform polished promo copy. Marketers compare it to early Instagram.

🏷️

Get discovered with topic tags

Topic tags - Threads' take on hashtags - plus clear, keyword-rich posts help your content surface in search and explore feeds. Treat every post like a mini searchable document.

🎭

Voice beats volume

Brands like Netflix and Wendy's win on Threads with witty, human commentary - teasing releases, joining trends, and replying to fans instead of broadcasting at them.

Threads for Business

Run your brand's presence like a pro

Threads plugs straight into the Meta business ecosystem - one login, shared audiences, unified tools, and a growing set of features built for teams.

Get set up in four steps

From zero to a fully connected business account.

01

Make Instagram professional

Switch your Instagram to a Business or Creator account and link it to a Facebook Page you manage.

02

Sign in to Threads

Log in with that Instagram account - your username, profile, and followers carry over instantly.

03

Connect Meta Business Suite

See Threads performance alongside Facebook and Instagram, and cross-post from the Instagram composer.

04

Add Meta Verified (optional)

Business plans start at $14.99/month for the blue badge, impersonation monitoring, and a boost in search and recommendations.

Manage

One dashboard for everything

Meta Business Suite brings Threads insights - views, likes, replies, reposts - into the same view as your Facebook and Instagram metrics.

Trust

Verification that protects

The blue badge separates your official profile from impersonators and fan pages, with Meta proactively removing fake accounts.

Engage

Customer conversations

Monitor what customers say about your brand, reply in real time, and turn public threads into a social listening channel.

Automate

AI business tools

Meta's Business Agent tools can help answer customer questions, recommend products, book appointments, and qualify leads.

Scale

Works with your scheduling tools

2026 API updates bring ghost posts, cross-sharing to Instagram Stories, GIFs, spoiler tags, reply approvals, and real-time webhooks to third-party tools - so scheduling, discovery, and moderation fit into the workflow your team already uses.

Threads Automation

Put your posting on autopilot

Schedule in bulk, publish through the official API, and let webhooks do the follow-up - while you spend your time in the conversations that actually grow accounts.

DRAFT SCHEDULER THREADS API LIVE

Schedule ahead

Threads has basic single-post scheduling built in, and tools like Buffer, Hootsuite, Later, Typefully, and Metricool add queues, calendars, and bulk uploads on top of the official API - posts go live automatically, no phone required.

React in real time

Real-time publish and delete webhooks let your stack respond the moment something happens - feed analytics, trigger follow-up posts, or route replies for approval before they go out.

Build no-code workflows

Connect Threads to platforms like n8n and Make.com to build multi-step flows without writing code - cross-post from Instagram or X, publish from an RSS feed, or sync content across ten platforms at once.

Automate the mechanical

  • Scheduling and bulk publishing
  • Drafting and content repurposing
  • Analytics collection and reporting
  • Cross-posting to other platforms

Keep the conversation human

  • Replies and community engagement
  • Hot takes and opinion posts
  • Responding to customer questions
  • Copy-paste bot replies tank your reach - the algorithm rewards real conversation
Threads Analytics

Influencer Marketing

Partner with creators while rates are still early

Threads creator partnerships in 2026 are priced like Instagram's were in 2017 - conversational, authentic, and dramatically cheaper. The brands moving now lock in relationships before the market matures.

🔭

Find creators where they talk

Search your category's keywords and topic tags to see who already leads the conversation - and check your mentions first: people organically praising you are your cheapest, most credible partners.

📝

Brief for the platform

Threads-native creators are conversational and unpolished by design. Give them a message and creative freedom, not a script - posts that invite replies outperform ad-copy every time. Think programs, not one-off posts.

📏

Measure and disclose properly

Track with UTM links, promo codes, and follower lift alongside built-in analytics - and always label paid partnerships clearly. On a trust-driven platform, disclosure is a feature, not a formality.

Social Listening

Hear what the feed says about you

Threads is where opinions form in public. Track mentions, keywords, and topic tags in real time - and join the conversation before it moves on without you.

👂

What to listen for

Brand and product mentions, competitor names, your category's keywords, and the topic tags your customers hang out in. Praise becomes testimonials; complaints become saves; questions become sales.

🔬

Powered by the API

The Keyword Search API queries public posts by keyword or topic tag (500 searches per rolling week), and the mentions endpoint surfaces every public post that tags your profile - then lets you reply, quote, or repost right from your tools.

📡

Scale with listening suites

Hootsuite's Talkwalker-powered listening spans 30+ networks including Threads, and Sprout Social rolls conversations into cases and CRM records - so a spike in chatter never catches your team off guard.

Brand Monitoring

A watchtower for your brand on Threads

Listening tells you what's being said; monitoring makes sure nothing slips past. Alert rules, spike detection, competitor share of voice, and response-time targets - running 24/7 so your team doesn't have to.

Alert rules that match risk

Set thresholds, not vibes: mention-volume spikes, negative-sentiment jumps, and named keywords each trigger their own alert - routed to the right channel at the right urgency.

🥊

Watch competitors too

Track rival brand names and product keywords through the same keyword search - share of voice, launch reactions, and unhappy customers openly shopping for an alternative.

🧯

Crisis-ready by default

When a spike turns sour, monitoring buys you the minutes that matter: pause scheduled posts, route replies through approval, respond from one aligned playbook - then report on how fast you recovered.

CRM Integration

Turn Threads conversations into pipeline

Threads has no built-in CRM - and doesn't need one. Unified inboxes, webhooks, and no-code connectors pipe replies and mentions straight into Salesforce, HubSpot, and whatever your sales team already lives in.

Unified inboxes with CRM sync

Suites like Sprout Social, Hootsuite, and Agorapulse pull Threads replies and mentions into one inbox - then link each conversation to a Salesforce or HubSpot contact, or create one on the spot for your sales team.

No-code lead capture

Zapier, Make.com, and n8n connect the Threads API to thousands of apps: a keyword-search hit or a mention fires a workflow that creates the contact, logs the post, and pings your team's channel.

🔔

Webhooks keep records fresh

Real-time publish and reply webhooks mean CRM records update the moment a conversation moves - no nightly imports, no copy-paste, no lead going cold in a forgotten inbox.

🎯

Close the loop with ads

Tag your Threads links with UTMs and match ad campaigns to CRM outcomes - so you can finally answer which conversations, posts, and promotions actually became revenue.

🤝

Support and sales in one motion

Route by intent: complaints escalate to support cases, pricing questions become deals, praise gets flagged for testimonials. AI classifiers in modern inboxes sort Threads conversations automatically - your team just picks up the thread where it matters.

AI Tools & AI Automation

Let AI draft, schedule, and analyze - while you stay the voice

From AI writing assistants to full agents running publishing pipelines over the API, Threads has become one of the most automatable platforms - as long as the conversation stays human.

🤖

AI agents via MCP

Tools now expose posting, scheduling, and analytics to custom AI agents through the Model Context Protocol - an agent can run your whole content calendar over the official API.

🧠

AI performance insights

Beyond raw metrics: AI analysis of why each post performed and what to try next, plus AI-suggested replies you review before sending.

⚖️

The golden rule

Automate the mechanical, keep the conversational human. AI-drafted posts with your edits grow accounts; unreviewed bot replies get buried by the algorithm.

🔁

End-to-end AI pipelines

Chain it all together in n8n or Make.com: AI drafts from an RSS feed or product update → human approval step → scheduled publish via the API → webhook fires → analytics logged automatically.

🏪

Meta's own business AI

Meta's AI Business Agent tools help brands answer customer questions, recommend products, book appointments, and qualify leads across its platforms - Threads conversations included in the funnel.

🛡️

Stay inside the rules

Build on the official API with its published rate limits - 250 posts and 1,000 replies per day is plenty for any sane strategy. Unofficial scrapers and headless browsers risk your account.

Threads Followers

Build an audience that actually shows up

Followers on Threads aren't a vanity number - they're the people whose replies power your reach. Start with the network you already have, then earn the rest.

@yourbrand
0 FOLLOWERS

What makes people tap Follow

A bio that says what you're about - one clear line on who the account is for, plus a link worth clicking.

A recognizable voice - opinionated, human, consistent. People follow personalities, not press releases.

Proof in the profile - your best conversation pinned to the top so new visitors instantly see what they'd get.

Showing up in replies - thoughtful replies on bigger accounts put you in front of audiences you don't have yet.

A reason to stay - a steady cadence, so following you visibly pays off in their feed every day.

📥

Start with your Instagram network

Sign in with Instagram and optionally import your profile and follow the same accounts - new Threads accounts can begin with an audience from day one instead of from zero.

🧭

Know who follows you

Insights show your follower count over time plus audience demographics like age, gender, and location - so you can post when and what your actual audience wants.

🚫

Never buy followers

Purchased or bot followers don't reply - and on a platform where replies drive reach, a dead audience actively buries your posts. Slow and real beats fast and fake.

Growth Strategy

How accounts actually grow on Threads

The algorithm rewards conversation, not broadcasting. Growth here is a loop - every post exists to start replies, and every reply feeds your reach.

Growth LOOP 1 · Postconsistent, opinionated 2 · Repliesweighted over likes 3 · Reach boostalgorithm amplifies 4 · Followersfuel the next post
🗓️

Find your cadence

Two to four posts a day, spaced through peak windows - weekday mornings and lunch hours perform best. Consistency beats volume; give each post room to breathe.

🏛️

Build 3–5 content pillars

Industry insights, behind-the-scenes, education, questions that invite opinions, and social proof - a mix that keeps followers engaged and attracts new ones.

🔍

Write to be found

Clear, keyword-rich posts plus topic tags surface in search and explore feeds. Treat every post like a mini searchable document.

💬

Reply more than you post

Replies are the strongest signal in the feed. Jumping into other people's conversations grows accounts faster than another broadcast ever will.

Developers & API

Where is the Threads API documentation?
Official docs live on Meta for Developers under the Threads API section (developers.facebook.com/docs/threads). They cover getting started, publishing, insights, keyword search, reply management, webhooks, and troubleshooting - this Meta Threads Developer API is the single source of truth for endpoints and permissions.
What does the Threads API cost? (Threads API pricing)
Nothing. Meta publishes no paid tier, per-call fee, or quota-upgrade product. Access is free and governed by rate limits instead - by default 250 posts, 1,000 replies, and 100 deletions per profile in any rolling 24-hour window, plus 500 keyword searches per rolling 7 days. Check live quota anytime with GET /threads_publishing_limit.
How does Threads API authentication work?
OAuth 2.0. Register a Meta app, request the scopes you need (threads_basic, threads_content_publish, threads_manage_insights, and so on), send the user through the authorization flow, then exchange your short-lived token for a long-lived access token. Store tokens in environment variables - never in code.
Is Threads part of the Graph API? (Threads Graph API / Instagram Threads Graph API)
Yes - the Threads API is a member of the Meta Graph API family and follows the same conventions, served from graph.threads.net. It's tied to Instagram identity: accounts authenticate through Instagram, usernames stay in sync, and the threads_share_to_instagram scope enables cross-sharing posts to Instagram Stories.
Can you show a basic Threads API example?
Publishing is a two-step flow - create a media container, then publish it:
POST graph.threads.net/v1.0/{user_id}/threads
  ?media_type=TEXT&text=Hello+Threads&access_token=...
→ returns creation_id

POST graph.threads.net/v1.0/{user_id}/threads_publish
  ?creation_id={creation_id}&access_token=...
Threads API with Python
import requests

BASE = "https://graph.threads.net/v1.0"
c = requests.post(f"{BASE}/{USER_ID}/threads", params={
    "media_type": "TEXT", "text": "Hello from Python 🐍",
    "access_token": TOKEN}).json()
requests.post(f"{BASE}/{USER_ID}/threads_publish", params={
    "creation_id": c["id"], "access_token": TOKEN})
Threads API with Node.js / JavaScript
const BASE = "https://graph.threads.net/v1.0";
const c = await fetch(`${BASE}/${USER_ID}/threads?media_type=TEXT` +
  `&text=${encodeURIComponent("Hello from Node 👋")}` +
  `&access_token=${TOKEN}`, { method: "POST" }).then(r => r.json());
await fetch(`${BASE}/${USER_ID}/threads_publish` +
  `?creation_id=${c.id}&access_token=${TOKEN}`, { method: "POST" });
The same code runs in browser JavaScript, but keep tokens server-side in production.
Threads API with PHP
$base = "https://graph.threads.net/v1.0";
$c = json_decode(file_get_contents("$base/$userId/threads?" .
  http_build_query(["media_type"=>"TEXT","text"=>"Hello from PHP 🐘",
  "access_token"=>$token], "", "&"), false,
  stream_context_create(["http"=>["method"=>"POST"]])));
file_get_contents("$base/$userId/threads_publish?creation_id=$c->id" .
  "&access_token=$token", false,
  stream_context_create(["http"=>["method"=>"POST"]]));
For real projects use cURL or Guzzle with error handling.
Is there a Threads API SDK?
Meta doesn't ship an official dedicated Threads SDK - the REST endpoints work with any HTTP client. Community SDKs and wrappers exist for Python, Node.js, and PHP on GitHub and npm/PyPI, and unified social APIs bundle Threads alongside other platforms. The REST surface is small enough that many teams just call it directly.
What is the Threads Keyword Search API? (Threads Search API)
It queries public posts by keyword or topic tag: GET /keyword_search?q=…, with search_mode=TAG for topic tags and a media_type filter for text, image, or video results. It requires the threads_keyword_search permission with advanced access, is limited to 500 queries per rolling 7 days, and you can reply to, quote, or repost the results.
What can the Threads Insights / Analytics API return?
Per-post metrics - views, likes, replies, reposts, quotes, and shares - plus account-level data such as follower counts over time and audience demographics (demographics require a minimum follower threshold). Data is available from April 2024 onward and needs the threads_manage_insights scope.
What is the Threads Business API?
The business-facing layer of the same API: reading and managing replies, approving replies before they appear, tracking public mentions of your profile, embedding posts on external sites via oEmbed, and reacting to real-time publish/delete webhooks - the pieces teams use for moderation, support, and CRM workflows.
Is there a Threads API tutorial to start with?
Start with Meta's official Getting Started guide, then: create a Meta app, add the Threads use case, generate a test token in the Graph API Explorer, publish a test post with the two-step flow above, then request advanced access for the scopes your app needs. Most developers ship a working prototype in an afternoon.

Tools & Software

What's the best Threads scheduler / social media scheduler?
It depends on your setup. Threads' own app has free single-post scheduling. Buffer (free tier, 3 channels) suits solo creators; Metricool adds strong analytics; Typefully and Hypefury are built for text-first writers; RecurPost fits agencies needing approval workflows; Hootsuite and Sprout Social serve enterprises. Whatever you pick, choose one built on the official API.
What's the best Threads automation tool?
For no-code workflows, Make.com and n8n connect the Threads API to thousands of apps (RSS-to-Threads, cross-posting, CRM capture). For scheduled publishing, the schedulers above automate the calendar. For AI agents, tools with MCP support expose posting and analytics directly to custom agents. Automate the mechanical work - keep replies human.
What's the best Threads management software?
For a single brand: a scheduler plus native insights covers it. For teams: Hootsuite or Sprout Social add unified inboxes, AI routing, approval flows, and CRM sync. For agencies: RecurPost or Agorapulse handle multiple clients with approvals. Match the tool to your team size, not the feature list.
Is there a Threads content planner?
Yes - every major scheduler includes a visual calendar for planning posts across days and weeks, and several offer best-time-to-post recommendations from your audience data. Pair a calendar with 3–5 content pillars and a 2–4 post daily cadence and you have a working content plan.
What's a good Threads posting tool?
Any official-API scheduler doubles as a posting tool: compose, attach media, queue, and publish without opening the app. Developers can post directly with the two-step publishing flow shown in the API answers above - that's all a posting tool does under the hood.
Is there a Threads AI content generator / AI caption generator?
Yes, several kinds: general assistants (Claude, ChatGPT - free tiers work) draft posts and captions from a prompt; schedulers like Buffer bundle AI assistants; and dedicated tools generate variations, hooks, and reply suggestions. Always edit AI drafts into your own voice - the feed rewards personality, not templates.
Is there a Threads hashtag generator?
Threads doesn't use classic hashtags - it uses topic tags, and each post can carry just one. So instead of generating hashtag lists, pick the single most relevant topic tag for the conversation you want to join, and put your keywords in the post text itself, where search actually reads them.
What's a Threads engagement tool?
Tools that help you keep up with conversations: unified inboxes that gather replies and mentions in one queue, AI-suggested replies you review before sending, and reply-approval workflows via the API. Avoid anything that auto-replies without human review - bot replies suppress your reach.
What about Threads marketing software and campaign management?
A complete stack is: a scheduler (content), a listening/monitoring tool (conversations), Meta Ads Manager (paid campaigns on Threads run alongside Facebook and Instagram), and UTM-tagged links into your analytics or CRM (attribution). Most brands assemble this from two or three tools rather than one suite.
Is there a Threads insights dashboard / analytics tool?
Three levels: the app's built-in insights (views, interactions, followers) are free; Meta Business Suite rolls Threads metrics up next to Facebook and Instagram; and tools like Metricool and Sprout Social build full dashboards - engagement rates, growth trends, best-time analysis - on top of the Insights API.

Business & Strategy

How do I set up a Threads business account?
Switch your Instagram account to a Professional (Business or Creator) account, link it to a Facebook Page you manage, then sign in to Threads with that Instagram. Your Threads presence then appears in Meta Business Suite for unified management - and note your Threads and Instagram usernames must match to run ads.
How does Threads verification work?
The blue badge comes via Meta Verified, tied to your Instagram verification. Business plans start at $14.99/month and include the badge, proactive impersonation monitoring, and improved standing in search and recommendations. Notable public figures and brands may also hold legacy verification.
Where do I start with Threads marketing? (Threads marketing guide)
Shortcut: read this page top to bottom. The essentials - post 2–4 times daily in peak windows, build 3–5 content pillars, write keyword-rich posts with a topic tag, spend more time in replies than in composing, cross-promote from Instagram, then layer on ads (global since January 2026) once organic tells you what works.
How does Threads CRM integration work?
Through tools, not natively: unified inboxes (Sprout Social, Hootsuite, Agorapulse) link Threads conversations to Salesforce or HubSpot contacts, while Zapier/Make/n8n workflows turn mentions and keyword hits into CRM records automatically via the API and webhooks. See the CRM section above for the full flow.
Can I do social listening on Threads?
Yes - track brand mentions, competitor names, and category keywords using the Keyword Search and mentions APIs, or at scale with listening suites (Hootsuite's Talkwalker listening covers 30+ networks including Threads). Watch sentiment and volume spikes so you can respond before conversations move on.
What is Threads AI automation?
Using AI across the workflow: drafting posts, picking posting times from audience data, analyzing why posts performed, and - via MCP - letting AI agents operate publishing pipelines over the official API with human approval steps. The rule that keeps it safe: automate the mechanical, keep the conversational human.

No questions match that filter - try a broader term.
